A Unique Path to Comprehensive Legal Practice
Mary Zogg's journey to becoming one of Central Florida's most distinctively qualified attorneys began in Buffalo, New York, where she developed a fascination with understanding human behavior and decision-making. This interest led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating in 2000.

Rather than immediately entering psychology practice, Mary recognized that law offered broader opportunities to help people navigate life's most challenging transitions. She continued her education at SUNY Buffalo School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 2003 and passing the Florida Bar that same year.

However, Mary's educational journey didn't end there. Recognizing that many legal matters—particularly divorce, business disputes, and estate planning—involve complex financial dimensions, she pursued a Master of Business Administration at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, one of the region's most prestigious business programs.

Over Two Decades of Central Florida Practice
Since her admission to the Florida Bar in November 2003 (Bar #689718), Mary has dedicated more than 20 years to serving Central Florida families and businesses. She initially practiced in Orlando for approximately eight years before expanding her practice to serve clients throughout Central and Southeast Florida.

Today, Mary practices in multiple Florida jurisdictions, including Orange, Lake, Osceola, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. This multi-county practice enables her to serve clients wherever they face legal challenges.

Professional Recognition

Mary's commitment to professional excellence includes:

Collaborative Law Training: Certified in Collaborative Divorce practice, offering clients interest-based alternative dispute resolution
Continuing Legal Education: Regular participation in family law, estate planning, and business law seminars to stay current on legal developments
Professional Associations: Active membership in legal organizations advancing family law and business law practice

The Multidisciplinary Difference

What truly distinguishes Mary's practice is her ability to view legal matters through multiple professional lenses:

Through the Psychology Lens: She understands the emotional toll of divorce, the psychological impact of custody disputes on children, and the stress clients experience during business disputes or estate planning discussions. This empathy isn't just compassion—it's professional training that enables her to communicate effectively, manage client expectations, and develop strategies that account for human factors often overlooked in purely legal analysis.

Through the Business Lens: Her MBA education provides sophisticated understanding of financial statements, business valuations, cash flow analysis, tax implications, and strategic planning. This expertise proves invaluable in high-asset divorces, business formation, corporate transactions, and estate planning for business owners.

Through the Legal Lens: Her two decades of legal practice provide deep knowledge of Florida statutory law, case precedent, court procedures, and effective advocacy strategies.

This rare combination means clients receive comprehensive counsel addressing not just legal technicalities but also practical business implications and personal wellbeing.

Philosophy of Practice

Mary's practice philosophy is encapsulated in her tagline: "Comprehensive Strategy, Anticipated Results."

She believes clients deserve:

Honest Assessment: Mary doesn't sugarcoat case realities. She provides frank evaluation of strengths, weaknesses, and likely outcomes.

Comprehensive Analysis: She examines cases from emotional, financial, and legal perspectives, ensuring nothing is overlooked.

Strategic Planning: Rather than reactive legal practice, Mary develops proactive strategies aligned with client goals.

Transparent Communication: Clients receive regular updates, understand case developments, and maintain realistic expectations throughout representation.
Anticipated Outcomes: Through comprehensive strategy and honest communication, Mary works to ensure clients anticipate case results rather than being blindsided by unexpected developments.

Personal Background
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Mary now resides in Hollywood, Florida with her family. She maintains strong connections to her Buffalo roots while embracing Florida as her professional home.

Outside the office, Mary is an avid traveler and culinary enthusiast, always eager to explore new destinations and cuisines. These experiences broaden her perspective and enhance her ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Community Involvement
Mary believes in giving back to the Central Florida community that has supported her practice. She regularly provides educational resources on family law, estate planning, and business law topics through her website and community presentations.

A Personal Approach to Legal Practice
Unlike large law firms where clients feel like case numbers, Mary provides personal, direct attorney-client relationships. When you hire Mary Zogg, you work directly with Mary—not a rotating cast of associates and paralegals. She personally handles consultations, strategy sessions, court appearances, and negotiations.

This personal approach ensures continuity, enables deeper understanding of client circumstances, and builds the trust essential for effective attorney-client relationships.

“Comprehensive strategy, anticipated results.”

Mary Zogg, formerly Mary Hoftiezer has a multidisciplinary background which helps to provide a unique experience for her clients. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Masters in Business Administration in addition to her law degree. This allows her to provide her clients with a full vision of the financial, emotional, and legal aspects of their cases.

Comprehensive Strategy:

Mary takes a global look at your case, including the emotional, the financial, and the legal aspects of your case.

Mary’s degree in psychology has provided her with the ability to listen and understand the emotional impact of a divorce or paternity action. She works to understand how you feel and takes these feelings into account when putting together a strategy as to how to resolve your case. Mary isn’t going to sugarcoat things for you. She will hear your position and let you know how your case may play out in the divorce or paternity action. Mary understands that this is about your life and she does her best to address the way you feel as you progress through this process.

In addition to her undergraduate degree, Mary chose to obtain a Masters in Business Administration. Divorce, at best, is difficult and it can be financially devastating. Mary works to help her clients fully understand the financial aspects of their cases. She identifies the issues that will have a financial impact on your case, and works to put the right people in place to provide the best possible result for her clients.

Mary has been a practicing attorney for over a decade. Her experience allows her to provide her clients with a full picture of how the law may apply to each of their individual cases. The truth is, no one will get everything that they want out of a divorce and no one knows for sure how a case may be resolved. However, Mary uses her experience to inform each of her clients of how the existing laws apply to their case and works with her clients to find a legal resolution that they can live with.

Anticipated Results:

It is difficult enough to go through a divorce or to have any kind of conflict about your children. Mary works with her clients to come to a comprehensive strategy, taking into consideration all aspects of the case and the individual needs of her clients, so that each client may anticipate the results of their case. No lawyer can guarantee results, and Mary does not try to provide guarantees. Instead, she works with her clients to keep them informed and maintain reasonable expectations as to how the case may be resolved. Mary works hard to ensure her clients know the possibilities for resolution and tries to ensure that the results are what each client anticipates. She works to ensure that no client is blind-sided by a court ruling.
